When asked to renovate this penthouse unit on the north side of Chicago, the client requested a complete departure from the early Millennial aesthetic he had for the past 15 years without chasing after today’s trends. Removing all traces of sand colored granite, cherry cabinets and golden oak floors, we opted for a greige palette accented with slate blue, cognac and burnt sienna. Infusing geometric patterns, natural materials such as a live-edge walnut sideboard and leathered granite fireplace surround, we crafted an interior that felt timeless and collected.

Grounding the eastern wall of the great room with wall-to-wall sheers diffused the bright early morning light and added a softness to the open space.

Honed Cashmere quartzite countertops and a handcrafted geometric ceramic tile backsplash keep this classic white kitchen feeling fresh and modern.

The banquette adjacent to the kitchen not only provided the client a highly sought after dining space but double functions as the perfect place for work-from-home conference calls.

We always strive for a stylish interior that feels fresh and modern, one that doesn’t speak to a specific era of design. The focus is on good taste over trend.
