This high-rise urban apartment was an exercise in combining influences from various decades of design, from classic Midcentury Modern to the sleek sophistication of the 70s and 80s. Floor-to-ceiling architectural windows frame expansive views over the northern neighborhoods of the city with restored mirrored columns enhancing the breathtaking views. Curated, pedigree pieces complement new bespoke upholstery and collected accessories. Custom built-ins and carefully selected lighting enhance the space’s functionality without sacrificing style, demonstrating how contemporary luxury can feel both elevated and inviting when natural light, organic textures, and strategic pops of color come together in perfect harmony.
Bold geometric wallpaper by Pierre Frey creates a striking backdrop for the original Edward Wormley chairs and an oversized photograph by Richard Phibbs, transforming an intimate dining nook into a dramatic statement space without compromising the panoramic city views.
The rich walnut wood of the built-in desk compliments the Belvedere Quartzite stone writing surface, the perfect spot for penning a hand-written note or composing a midweek email. Juxtaposing the clean lines of the cabinetry is a vintage iron stool, found while sourcing at a local antique store, and upholstered in a graphic textured fabric.
In the bedroom, moody charcoal grey-green walls and floor to ceiling drapery are offset by the playful geometry of the hand-knotted wool rug and silkscreened linen wallcovering on the ceiling. It’s this dichotomy that adds visual interest while preserving the serenity of the space.
