When working with a couple temporarily relocating from the east coast with nothing but their wardrobes, the challenge was to create a home that felt warm and inviting even though it would only be used for twenty-four months. Drawing inspiration from the ethereal quality of the Chicago winter landscape, a palette of warm white and taupe accented with crystalline blue and dark steel was developed to soften the stark modernity of the new construction high-rise.

The perfect shade of hydrangea blue on the back of the entry door, a subtle reminder of the client’s east coast garden, was a truly personal touch to make this new space feel like home.
